The museum of the Salt Marshes proposes you an exhibition "The salt of the Incas" from November 27, 2021 to November 6, 2022.

The exhibition highlights the salt production site of Maras in Peru, located in the Andes at 3300 m altitude, in the heart of the ancient Inca empire.
The photographs and films, realized on the ground between 1980 and 2021, dialogue with tools and objects collected in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. They testify of a living salt culture, anchored in contemporary social and economic realities.
The exhibition, produced on the occasion of the bicentenary of the Independence of Peru (1821-2021), was impelled by the direction of the Alliance française in Peru, in Lima. It is also the fruit of a valuable collaboration with the salt cooperative empresa Marasal S.A. and the community of the salt makers, cachi camayoq, of the salt pans of Maras.
