Visit Guérande and its salt marshes

The Salt Marshes

A unique and enchanting landscape, the salt marshes are a mosaic of shapes and colors... Light gray in the morning, bright white at zenith, and purple at sunset. It's a surprise, from season to season. It's an area of 2,000 hectares of cultivated and uncultivated marshes, divided into two zones: The salt marshes of Guérande, around the Traict du Croisic, cover 1,650 hectares in the municipalities of Batz-sur-Mer, Guérande, and La Turballe. The salt marshes of Mès cover 350 hectares in the municipalities of Mesquer-Quimiac, Saint-Molf, and Assérac.
